Green vegetables are important sources of food and eating several green vegetables provide nutritional benefits that help to form the basis for a healthy body. They are not only a food source, but also have medicinal properties that protect and cure many diseases. Green vegetables are rich in substances such as protein, fat, carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamins, minerals and fibers that are beneficial to health. These substances also help to combat free radicals that cause rapid deterioration of the body and cancer, promotes digestion and helps to remove body waste, thus reducing the risk of poisonous substances and heavy metals accummulating on the walls of the intestines. In addition, green vegetables contain enzymes that act as catalyst on living things, promoting health and vitality.

Vegetables grown conventionally contain lots of residue chemicals and pesticides that when consumed, will accumulate in the body and this is harmful to health. Thus, vegetables should be wash thoroughly. You may follow the simple method of washing below:

1. Soak in water for 10 minutes and rinse
2. Soak in salt solution for 10 minutes and rinse
3. Soak in vinegar for 10 minutes and rinse

The other way to ensure that your vegetables are safe for consumption is to consume vegetables that are grown without the use of chemicals and pesticides.

Acidity
Take a mixture of juices of cabbage and carrot. Juices of cucumber, potato, apple and watermelon can also be taken. Avoid chillies, fried food and sweets.
Acne
Take a mixture of carrot and spinach juices. Massage papaya or potato juice on the face. Do not allow greasiness to remain on the face and avoid using cosmetics.
Asthma
Mixture of leafy vegetables, beet root, cabbage, alfalfa and bittergourd is helpful.
Bronchitis
Take warm water with ginger, honey and lemon juice in the morning. Alternatively, take warm water with garlic and onion juice. Avoid smoking.
Cough
Take warm water mixed with honey and lemon juice in the morning. Also take carrot juice with a little of garlic, onion and basil juices.
Eczema
Take a mixture of carrot, spinach and mixed leafy vegetables juices. Potato, papaya and watermelon juices can also be taken. Potato juice may be rubbed externally on the affected skin.
Fever
Take warm water mixed with honey and lemon juice in the morning. Warm water with garlic and onion juices can also be taken. You can also take juices of cabbage, gourd, basil and orange. Rest is very essential.
For beautifying complexion
Tomato, mixed juices of beet-root and apple, guava, papaya and cucumber juices. Cucumber juice can also be applied externally to the skin
Gastric Ulcer
Take 500ml of cabbage juice daily. Also, take cucumber, papaya and potato juices. Avoid citrus fruits.
Gout
Take warm water mixed with honey and lemon juice. A tablespoon of garlic and onion juices can also be taken with warm water. Juice of French beans. potato and cherry is good as well. Avoid wine and excessive protein diet.
Headache
Take ginger, carrot, beet root, cucumber, tomato, cabbage and apple juices.
High Blood Pressure
Garlic, basil and wheatgrass juices are beneficial.
Influenza
Take warm water mixed with honey and lemon juice in the morning.
Kidney Stone
Take carrot, cucumber, beetroot, apple and pumpkin juices. Avoid taking leafy vegetables juices.
Poor Appetite
Take lemon juice in the morning.
Menstrual Problems
Take carrot, papaya, pineapple and grape juice. Also, juices of leafy vegetables is useful.
